I thought these pages were interesting because they talked about how people are more connected by using technology, as opposed to the old way of just communicating face to face. i agree with this because technology can help you communicate with the people who aren't around you, but it can also create a feeling of emptiness with the people you are around because everyone is so attached to their devices. It says that "students of the media are persistently attacked as evaders, idly concentrating on means or processes rather than on 'substances'",this means that since today's world moves so quickly because of technology, people don't really take the time out acknowledge sentimental things in their lives that much .
it also expresses how privacy is limited now that everyone is so "connected". instead of it just being you and the people close to you, everyone is able to give their input on your decisions. when it say "the family circle has widened", it means that now society is able to see whats going on in your life.
